Jane Pesqueira

2's/3's Partial Immersion Teacher, Lead Pre-care Teacher

Jane was born in Panama City, Panama. She and her family traveled abroad until she was 13 years old, and then moved to the United States. Jane and her husband, Art, have four children and seven grandchildren. Her passion was ballet and studied for her Bachelors of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona. Jane was a ballerina then retired to teach preschool. She has been a preschool teacher for 25 years and has taught at ISP since 2004. She feels lucky to have so many children in her life.

Holli Kent

After Care Teacher

Holli Kent is a native Tucsonian. She grew up on the Saint Francis campus attending church with her grandmother. Holli began training as an EMT and is a licensed massage therapist; she currently works in the facilities department at St. Francis in the Foothills. Holli believes that kids are fun to hang out with and to learn from - they open her eyes to different possibilities. One of Holli's favorite things about aftercare is storytime. When she’s not at work, Holli enjoys reading, playing video games, drawing, and playing the violin.

Jodi Gottlieb

Hebrew Enrichment Teacher, 2's & 3's Assistant, PreCare Assistant
Jodi is so excited to be joining ISP. Jodi was born and raised in Johnstown, PA and has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She moved to Tucson in 1992 and doesn't miss snow one bit! She has volunteered for many years in various preschools and elementary schools and loves spending time with children and enjoys watching them learn and grow. She has two beautiful daughters and a wonderful husband who keep her very busy. She enjoys taking long walks, practicing yoga, and Zumba workouts. She is forever grateful for all of the beautiful things that life has to offer.

Cathy DeMers, M.Ed.

Director

Cathy earned a Master's degree in Special Education in the area of social/emotional development and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from the University of Arizona.  She lived in Highland Park, Illinois and worked for the North Suburban Special Education District for 17 Years before relocating back to Tucson in 2001. Cathy worked as a preschool teacher where she met Susie Vincent (Founder of ISP) and helped start International School for Peace in 2004. Cathy enjoys exploring & hiking in beautiful Tucson with her husband Gerry and visiting her daughter Grace in Chicago and her daughter Laura in Pittsburgh. 

Khylia Marshall

Office Manager

 Khylia moved to Tucson 15 years ago to attend the University of Arizona, fell in love, and never left!  She earned her Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, and her Post-Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. After teaching high school on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation for four years, she had her first child and chose to stay at home to raise her. While doing so, she occasionally taught as a substitute for TUSD and discovered a love for the eagerness and sincerity of younger students. She is so very excited for her youngest to attend International School for Peace. When not spending time with her family, Khylia enjoys dancing, cooking, and book clubbing! 

Nooshin Salek

3's/4's Language Enrichment Teacher/Farsi Teacher
Nooshin was born in Iran and cherished her youth growing up with her family.  She graduated from the University of Tehran with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.  She taught in Tehran at an elementary & middle school & later served as the Assistant Principal of the middle school.  After marrying her husband, she moved to Tucson. Nooshin loved raising her daughter, Sara, at home.  When Sara started kindergarten, she volunteered to work at her school, Sunrise Elementary. Shortly after, she worked as a volunteer and later as a substitute teacher at ISP.  Within a short time she had an opportunity to work as an assistant teacher at ISP and has been a teacher here for 11 years!  Nooshin loves teaching and believes teaching is not a job, but a passion.

Lydia Seldner

3's/4's Language Enrichment Teacher
Lydia was raised in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico and received a professional degree in International Business Administration from Universidad De El Valle De Mexico, Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico.  She has extended experience in early childhood education.  Lydia worked as a volunteer at International School for Peace during the Spring of 2015 and now enjoys her days with our 3 and 4 year olds.  She is married and has a daughter who attends ISP.  Lydia likes to play tennis, practice yoga and is a fan of outdoor activities.

Paola Sagar

4's/5's Full Immersion Teacher
Ms. Paola is from Chile. She moved to the United States in January 2001. She got her degrees in Chile in Special Ed Learning Disabilities and Speech Pathology. This is her 6th year teaching at ISP. She likes dancing and is now a certified Zumba instructor!  She loves running and her favorite thing to do when she has free time is enjoy a good cup of coffee with a good book.  Ms. Paola not only believes that ISP is a wonderful learning experience for children, but for adults as well.

Gabby Grijalva

2 - 3 year old

Teacher Assistant

Gabby graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a certified Medical Assistant. She then learned that her love for children was greater and began her training in Montessori education.  She taught  for several years in a Montessori School in Tucson. Gabby was born and raised in Douglas Arizona, a small border town a few hours away from Tucson. Spanish was her main spoken language among her family and friends. She is also a mother to an adorable little boy who she loves and cares for very much. Gabby has grown to be very family oriented with an immense love for children and others. After a fun-filled  year as our lead aftercare teacher, Ms. Gabby returns to us in a new role as a teacher assistant in our 2 and 3 year old class. 

Alice Pringle

Music Enrichment Teacher

Alice Pringle has lived in Tucson for over 20 years and has a BA in Music Performance & Music Education.  She likes to do International Folk Dancing & Global Chant. She has 3 grown children & has been teaching music movement to young children in Tucson & Minneapolis since 1972.

Carmen is from Mexico. She moved to the United States in 2007. She is a certified Montessori Elementary Teacher. This is her 1st year teaching at ISP. She has extended experience in early childhood education and she loves working with children. She speaks Spanish, English and French. She loves cooking. In her free time she enjoys swimming and being surrounded by her family and friends.
