Cathy DeMers, M.Ed

Cathy earned a Master's degree in Special Education in the area of social/emotional development and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from the University of Arizona.  She lived in Highland Park, Illinois and worked for the North Suburban Special Education District for 17 Years before relocating back to Tucson in 2001. Cathy worked as a preschool teacher where she met Susie Vincent (Founder of ISP) and helped start International School for Peace in 2004. Cathy enjoys exploring & hiking in beautiful Tucson with her husband Gerry and visiting her daughter Grace in Chicago and her daughter Laura in Albuquerque. 





Jane Pesqueira
2's/3's Partial Spanish Immersion Teacher, Lead Precare Teacher, Director Designee

Jane was born in Panama City, Panama.  She and her family traveled abroad until she was 13 years old.  and then moved to the United States.  Jane and her husband Art have four children and seven grandchildren. Her passion was ballet and studied for her Bachelors of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona. Jane was a ballerina then retired to teach preschool. She has been a preschool teacher for 23 years and has taught at ISP since 2004. She feels lucky to have so many children in her life.

Lydia Seldner Escobosa
3's/4's Language Enrichment Teacher

Lydia was raised in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico and received a professional degree in International Business Administration from Universidad De El Valle Ee Mexico, Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico.  She has extended experience in early childhood education.  Lydia worked as a volunteer at International School for Peace during the Spring of 2015 and now enjoys her days with our 2/3 year olds.  She is married and has a daughter who attends ISP.  Lydia likes to play tennis, practice yoga and is a fan of outdoor activities.

Rosa "Vanessa" Torres

3's Full Immersion Teacher

Vanessa was born and raised in Hermosillo, Son, Mexico. She earner her bachelor's of education at the University De El Valle De Mexico.

Vanessa is married to Hugo, and has two children. She is grateful that she was able to be a full time stay at home mom to her children. Vanessa has been working with kids since 2013, and has had the opportunity to teach kids in a traditional style as well as the Montessori style. This has made her very happy because she's been able to gain invaluable experience from both philosophies. Vanessa learned early on that she deeply enjoys teaching young children, as they are always open to learn new things. Something that fills her with great satisfaction.







Gabriela "Gaby" Grivalvia

After Care Lead Teacher

Gaby graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a certified Medical Assistant. She then learned that her love for children was greater and began her training in Montessori education.  She taught  for several years in a Montessori School in Tucson.  Gaby was born and raised in Douglas Arizona, a small border town a few hours away from Tucson. Spanish was her main spoken language among her family and friends. She is also a mother to an adorable little boy who she loves and cares for very much. Gaby has grown to be very family oriented with an immense love for children and others.



Paola Sagar

4's/5's Full Immersion Teacher

Ms. Paola is from Chile. She moved to the United States in January 2001. She got her degrees in Chile in Special Ed Learning Disabilities, and Speech Pathology. This is her 5th year teaching at ISP. She likes dancing and is now a certified Zumba instructor!  She loves running and her favorite thing to do when she has free time is enjoy a good cup of coffee with a good book.  Ms. Paola not only believes that ISP is a wonderful learning experience for children, but for adults as well.  




Nooshin Salek
3's/4's Language Enrichment & Farsi Teacher 

Nooshin was born in Iran and cherished her youth growing up with her family.  She graduated from University of Tehran with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.  She taught in Tehran at an elementary & middle school & later served as the Assistant Principal of the middle school.  After marrying her husband she moved to Tucson. She loved raising her daughter, Sara, at home.  When Sara started kindergarten, she volunteered to work at her school, Sunrise Elementary. Shortly after, she worked as a volunteer and later as a substitute teacher at ISP.  Within a short time she had an opportunity to work as an assistant teacher at ISP School.  Nooshin loves teaching and believes teaching is not a job, but a passion.




Melanie Chiappini
Office Assistant

Melanie grew up in the tiny northern Arizona town of Eagar. She went to Yavapai College in Prescott, and later graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education degree (with an Early Childhood Endorsement). After graduation, Melanie taught 1st grade for 3 years, then transferred to kindergarten and taught for 5 more years. Melanie is married to Adam and was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with her two boys. Her youngest son attends ISP and her oldest son is now in 1st grade. Melanie loves working with children and watching their minds grow as they discover and learn.





Alice Pringle

Multicultural Music Enrichment Teacher

Alice Pringle has lived in Tucson for over 20 years and has a BA in Music Performance & Music Education.  She likes to do International Folk Dancing & Global Chant. She has 3 grown children & has been teaching music movement to young children in Tucson & Minneapolis since 1972.

Jodi Gottlieb

Hebrew Enrichment Teacher

Jodi is so excited to be joining ISP. Jodi was born and raised in Johnstown, PA and has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She moved to Tucson in 1992 and doesn't miss snow one bit! She has volunteered for many years in various preschools and elementary schools and loves spending time with children and enjoys watching them learn and grow. She has two beautiful daughters and a wonderful husband who keep her very busy. She enjoys taking long walks, practicing yoga, and Zumba workouts. She is forever grateful for all of the beautiful things that life has to offer.
